Qualifications

• Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) required; VTNE candidates welcome
• Oregon CVT license preferred/required for bonus

Responsibilities

• Partner with Internal Medicine veterinarians to evaluate and manage patients with chronic and complex conditions
• Support diagnostic workups for multisystem diseases and develop treatment plans
• Assist with abdominal ultrasound, CT scans, and endoscopy
• Prepare patients, equipment, and treatment areas for procedures
• Provide skilled nursing care and monitor patients during procedures and treatment
• Assist with veterinary oncology care, including chemotherapy administration
• Educate clients about medications, plans, follow-up care
• Maintain thorough medical records and documentation
• Communicate changes in patient condition to the team

Certified Veterinary Technician – Internal Medicine

$25–$40/hour | Central Point, OR | Full-Time | Monday–Thursday, 8 a.m.–6 p.m.

Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 8 a.m.–6 p.m. | Four-day work week with a consistent schedule.

Up to $6,000 in combined sign-on bonus, relocation reimbursement, and retention bonus for Oregon-licensed CVTs!

Southern Oregon Veterinary Specialty Center (SOVSC) is hiring a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) – Internal Medicine to support our Internal Medicine team in Central Point, OR. This role is ideal for a CVT who enjoys complex case management, advanced diagnostics, oncology, and building long‑term relationships with patients and their families.

In Your Day-to‑Day You Will

• Partner with board-certified and experienced Internal Medicine veterinarians to evaluate and manage patients with chronic and complex medical conditions

• Support diagnostic workups for multisystem and chronic diseases, helping the medical team develop and implement individualized treatment plans

• Assist with advanced diagnostic procedures, including abdominal ultrasound, CT scans, and endoscopy

• Prepare patients, equipment, and treatment areas for diagnostic and medical procedures

• Provide skilled nursing care and closely monitor patients throughout diagnostic procedures and treatment

• Support veterinary oncology care, including chemotherapy administration and patient monitoring

• Follow chemotherapy safety protocols, including appropriate medication handling and PPE use

• Educate clients about medications, treatment plans, follow‑up care, and what to expect throughout their pet’s ongoing treatment

• Build trusting relationships with clients whose pets may require long‑term or complex medical care

• Maintain detailed and accurate medical records, treatment plans, and patient documentation

• Communicate changes in patient condition and diagnostic findings effectively with veterinarians and the broader care team

• Help clients navigate complex medical recommendations with compassion, professionalism, and clear communication

• Collaborate with the entire hospital team to provide exceptional patient care and maintain efficient daily operations

What We’re Looking For

• Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT); recent veterinary technician graduates preparing for the VTNE are encouraged to apply

• Oregon CVT license preferred/required for eligibility for the bonus program

• Interest or experience in internal medicine, oncology, chronic disease management, or advanced veterinary diagnostics

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when managing complex treatment plans
