Animal Medical Center in Brookhaven, Mississippi, is seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician to join our mixed animal practice. You will assist four full-time veterinarians and provide care for companion and farm animals, including lab work, radiographs, anesthesia, and nursing care.

Qualifications

• Certified veterinary technician designation.
• 1+ year experience preferred but not required.
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
• Punctual and ready to work.
• Exceptional customer service and clear communication.
• Ability to interpret medical records and client history.
• Knowledge of preventative care and hospital flow.
• Experience restraining pets; large animal restraint is a plus.
• Proficient in collecting blood, urine, fecal, and skin samples.
• Process and set up lab tests accurately.
• Radiographs positioning; dental radiographs a plus.
• Anesthesia and monitoring proficiency.
• Self-starter willing to advance knowledge and skills.
• Accepts constructive feedback to maintain efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Restrain animals in a safe, low-stress manner.
• Triage incoming patients and collect/analyze lab samples.
• Perform diagnostic imaging and assist with radiographs.
• Provide nursing care and medication administration.
• Communicate treatment plans clearly with clients.
• Assist in surgical preparation and anesthesia management.
• Maintain hospital workflow and patient records.
