BluePearl Pet Hospitals in Glendale, WI seeks a Veterinary Technician for our Emergency Department. This full-time role offers a sign-on bonus up to $5,000 and a pay range of $21.00–$39.75/hour, depending on licensing, experience, and competency assessment results.

Responsibilities include anesthesia management, emergency triage, radiography, vitals monitoring, CPR readiness, phlebotomy, IV access, feeding tubes, and mentoring colleagues within a fast-paced hospital.

Qualifications

• Experience inducing, monitoring and recovering anesthesia in veterinary patients.
• Ability to triage emergency cases and measure vitals (HR, RR, temp, BP).
• Proficient in phlebotomy and IV catheter placement.
• Able to perform radiography with proper patient positioning.
• Mentor and train co-workers in clinical skills.

Responsabilités

• Perform digital radiography with proper technique and positioning.
• Interpret vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes.
• Administer medications and perform medical calculations.
• Place intravenous catheters and perform phlebotomy.
• Assist with feeding tubes and central line catheters.
• Mentor and train other staff; address client concerns.

BluePearl Pet Hospitals in Glendale, WI is looking for a Veterinary Technician to work with our Emergency Department

This role is eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $5,000 for qualified candidates!

Work Schedule: Full-Time

Pay Range: $21.00 - $39.75/hour

*This pay band is dependent on local veterinary licensing, experience, and advancement through our competency assessment tool

As Veterinary Technician, you will:

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital including obtaining vitals such as temperature heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure.
• Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients.
• Have a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation.
• Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
• Properly calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
• Are proficient at performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels.
• Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
• Have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers.
• Have patience and empathy to address client concerns.
• Additional tasks as needed based on the specific department being covered.
