Job summary

North River Animal Hospital is seeking a skilled Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) to join our general practice team. The CVT will support veterinarians, deliver high-quality patient care, and help manage hospital operations with attention to detail and compassion for animals.

The successful candidate will have current CVT/LVT/RVT certification, an associate degree in veterinary technology, strong nursing skills, and excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Qualifications

  • Current CVT/LVT/RVT certification.
  • Associate degree in Veterinary Technology or equivalent.
  • Strong technical and nursing skills in a general practice.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Compassionate, detail-oriented and reliable.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures
  • Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, and administer medications as directed
  • Monitor anesthesia and provide surgical nursing support
  • Collect and process laboratory samples (blood, urine, fecal, cytology, etc.)
  • Take and interpret radiographs in compliance with safety standards
  • Provide compassionate nursing care, including monitoring hospitalized patients
  • Communicate clearly with clients regarding patient care, home care instructions, and preventative health
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient medical records
  • Ensure proper cleaning, sterilization, and maintenance of equipment and instruments
  • Support a clean, safe, and organized hospital environment

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) to join our team.
