North River Animal Hospital is seeking a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) to join our general practice team. You will assist veterinarians, manage lab work, and support anesthesia and surgery in a compassionate setting.

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) to join our team. The CVT will play a key role in supporting our veterinarians, delivering excellent patient care, and ensuring smooth hospital operations. This position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a genuine love for animals.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures
• Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, and administer medications as directed
• Monitor anesthesia and provide surgical nursing support
• Collect and process laboratory samples (blood, urine, fecal, cytology, etc.)
• Take and interpret radiographs in compliance with safety standards
• Provide compassionate nursing care, including monitoring hospitalized patients
• Communicate clearly with clients regarding patient care, home care instructions, and preventative health
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient medical records
• Ensure proper cleaning, sterilization, and maintenance of equipment and instruments
• Support a clean, safe, and organized hospital environment

Qualifications

• Current certification as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, RVT)
• Associate degree in Veterinary Technology (or equivalent) required
• Strong technical and nursing skills in a general practice setting
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Compassionate, detail-oriented, and reliable
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
