Job summary

Canobie Lake Veterinary Hospital, located in Windham, NH, is seeking a Certified Veterinary Technician to join our AAHA-accredited small animal team. We value compassionate care, strong client communication, and clinical excellence in a busy, paperless hospital.

You will perform phlebotomy, anesthesia monitoring, radiography, and lab work; assist in surgeries; and help maintain our high standards of patient care and hospital efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Certified veterinary technician with preferred 1+ year experience.
  • AVMA-accredited program graduates welcomed; VTNE pending considered.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to work in a paperless hospital.
  • Excellent customer service and precise medical record interpretation.

Responsibilities

  • Phlebotomy and catheter placement; cystocentesis and sample collection.
  • Anesthesia monitoring, surgical prep and recovery; patient care.
  • Radiographs and laboratory sample processing; maintain hospital flow.
  • Provide exceptional client communication and teamwork.

Our hours of operation are:
  • Mon - Thurs:7am to 7pm
    • Closed Wednesdays from 1pm to 3pm
  • Fri:7am to 6pm
  • Sat - Sun:Closed
Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Our Treatment Technicians are responsible forphlebotomy, catheter placement, cystocentesis, fine-needle aspirates, animal restraint, anesthesia monitoring, surgical prep, running treatments on our appointments and stellar patient care. Our ideal candidate will have strong computer skills and excellent customer care skills. You must also be thoughtful, friendly, curious, responsible, punctual, and have a strong desire to learn!

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

We're looking for:
  • A certified veterinary technician, 1+ year experience preferred but not required
    • We are open to new graduates from an AVMA accredited program that are waiting to take the VTNE
  • Top-notch technical skills!
  • Ability to arrive on-time and ready to work
  • Computer skills a must! We are apaperlesspractice!
  • Pays attention to detail and is a fast learner
  • Exceptional customer service skills and ability to communicate precisely
  • Interpret medical records and record client history accurately
  • Knowledge in preventative care and hospital flow
  • Ability to restrain pets in a low-stress and safe manner
  • Proficient in sample collection to include blood samples, urine, fecal, and skin
  • Ability to properly set-up and process laboratory samples and tests, preferred but not required
  • Proficient in positioning and capturing radiographs
  • Proficient in anesthesia preparation, monitoring, and recovery
  • A self-starter with the desire to continue to advance one’s knowledge and skillset
  • Ability to receive in a professional manner constructive feedback to maintain hospital efficiency
