Job summary

Alliance Animal Health is seeking a certified veterinary technician to join our Animal Medical Center team in Mississippi. You will handle animal restraint, triage, lab work, imaging, and nursing care for both medical and hospitalized cases.

Responsibilities include medication administration, clear client communication, surgical prep and anesthesia support, with opportunities for ongoing training and career development.

Qualifications

  • Certified veterinary technician required or equivalent credentials.
  • High work ethic and positive attitude as a team member.
  • Punctual attendance and reliability for shift coverage.
  • Ability to arrive on-time and ready to work, including some Saturday mornings.
  • Excellent customer service and precise client communication.
  • Ability to interpret medical records and document client history accurately.
  • Knowledge of preventative care, surgical procedures, and hospital flow.
  • Ability to restrain pets in a low-stress, safe manner; large animal restraint a plus.
  • Proficiency in collecting blood, urine, fecal, and skin samples.
  • Proficiency in lab sample processing and radiographic positioning.
  • Experience with anesthesia and surgical monitoring.
  • Self-starter with desire to continually develop skills.
  • Able to receive constructive feedback to improve hospital efficiency.

Our practice is considered a mixed animal practice, as we primarily work with companion animals, but also work with local farm and other large animals. Our experienced team consists of four full-time veterinarians, three certified veterinary technicians, four animal caretakers, and three receptionists, all ready to assist you and your pet.

Our Hours Of Operation Are
  • Mon-Fri: 7:30am-12:00pm & 1:00pm-5:30pm
  • Sat: 8:00am-12:00pm
  • Closed on Sundays
Job Description

Animal restraint, triage of incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

Qualifications
We’re looking for:
  • A certified veterinary technician, 1+ year experience preferred but not required
  • A high work ethic and positive attitude team member
  • Ability to arrive on-time and ready to work
  • Some Saturday morning shift availability
  • Exceptional customer service skills and ability to communicate precisely
  • Interpret medical records and record client history accurately
  • Knowledge in preventative care, surgical procedures, and hospital flow
  • Ability to restrain pets in a low-stress and safe manner, large animal restraint knowledge is a plus but not required
  • Proficient in sample collection to include blood samples, urine, fecal, and skin
  • Ability to properly set-up and process laboratory samples and tests
  • Proficient in positioning and capturing radiographs, positioning for dental radiographs are a plus
  • Proficient in anesthesia and surgical monitoring
  • A self-starter with the desire to continue to advance one’s knowledge and skillset
  • Ability to receive in a professional manner constructive feedback to maintain hospital efficiency
