Job summary

Cobblestone Veterinary Care in Tempe, AZ is seeking an experienced Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) to support surgery, anesthesia, and dental procedures in a fast-paced, collaborative general practice.

As part of the team you will manage induction through recovery, assist veterinarians during surgeries, perform dental prophylaxis and radiography, monitor patients, and guide clients through admission and discharge with compassion.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of veterinary technician experience.
  • Active and good-standing Certified Veterinary Technician in the state of Arizona.
  • Proficiency in patient assessment, nursing care, monitoring, surgical assistance and aseptic technique.
  • Strong communication with clients and team; accurate documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Calculating and preparing anesthetic medications and drug dosages.
  • Inducing, monitoring, and recovering anesthesia patients.
  • Assisting veterinarians during surgical procedures.

Job description

Cobblestone Veterinary Care is seeking an experienced Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) to join our team and provide dedicated support for surgery, anesthesia, and dental procedures.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technician who wants to fully utilize their skillset with autonomy, trust, and support in a fast-paced, collaborative general practice environment. From induction through recovery, you will play a critical role in delivering safe, efficient, high-quality patient care alongside a veterinary team that values skilled technicians.

In this position, you will take an active role in:
  • Calculating and preparing anesthetic medications and drug dosages
  • Inducing, monitoring, and recovering anesthesia patients
  • Assisting veterinarians during surgical procedures
  • Performing dental prophylaxis and dental radiography
  • Monitoring patient recovery and ongoing procedural care
  • Guiding clients through patient admission and discharge with confidence and compassion
Schedule And Compensation
  • Compensation: $21 - $25 per hour, for each hour worked
  • This is a full-time position, with a 4/10 schedule and availability needed Monday-Saturday.

  • Bonus package: $2000 based on active, good-standing veterinary technician credentials in the state of [state]

Minimum Qualifications And Skill Set
  • 1+ years of veterinary technician experience
  • Active and good-standing Certified Veterinary Technician in the state of Arizona**
  • Proficiency in the following skills:
    • Patient assessment, nursing care, and monitoring
    • Surgical assistance and aseptic technique
    • Venipuncture and intravenous catheter placement
    • Radiology positioning and safety protocols
    • Medication administration and accurate drug calculations
    • Laboratory sample collection and in-house diagnostic testing
    • Accurate medical record documentation
    • Safe, low-stress patient handling and restraint techniques
    • Client education and communication
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and multitask in a fast-paced environment
    • Strong critical thinking and attention to detail
    • Effective teamwork and professional communication skills
    • Commitment to high-quality patient care and continuous learning
  • Recent graduates pending VTNE testing and licensure, or out-of-state license-holders who are eligible to transfer a license, are also encouraged to apply
