Job summary

Orlando Vets- Alafaya Trail is hiring a full-time Licensed Veterinary Technician to provide skilled care to patients and exceptional service to clients in Oviedo, FL. The role involves assisting veterinarians, restraining animals safely, and performing lab work and radiographs, with a focus on accuracy in medical records and patient welfare.

The position offers a comprehensive benefits package, PTO, and a 401(k) plan for full-time staff, with a schedule of 8AM-5:30PM and Saturdays 8AM-2PM.

Qualifications

• Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) certification.
• Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
• Knowledgeable about common disease states and able to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions.
• Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians with patient care, exams, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
• Safely handle and restrain animals with compassion.
• Communicate clearly with clients, including care instructions and status updates.
• Perform technical duties such as lab work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
• Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medication dispensing.
• Help keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready.
• Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines at all times.

Salary: $18.00-$21.00 per hour dependent on skills and experience
