Destination Pet is seeking a Certified Veterinary Technician in Livingston, NJ to join our team at Pups at Play. You will work at the top of your license in a supportive, community-focused practice, delivering high-quality care with a governed accountability.

Responsibilities

• Serve as clinical leader ensuring medical excellence.
• Perform anesthesia, analgesia, monitoring and recovery.
• Conduct dental radiography, charting and periodontal therapy.
• Lead tech appointments, conduct huddles, mentor externs.

Certified Veterinary Technician

Location: Pups at Play - Livingston, NJ Wage Range: $18.00 - $25.00 /hr. Must hold a valid New Jersey Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) state license.

Your Role – Clinical Driver & Leader

As a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT), you will be encouraged to work at the top of your license and serve as a clinical leader, ensuring medical excellence with a patient-first mindset. We follow AAHA utilization guidance consistently.

You will primarily utilize your skills in:

• Anesthesia & Analgesia: Full IV catheterization, multimodal pain management, induction, and advanced monitoring/recovery.
• Dentistry: Full-mouth dental radiography, charting, and periodontal therapy (per DVM direction).
• Diagnostics: High-quality radiography/positioning, in-house lab analysis, and sample collection.
• Nursing & Triage: Critical patient monitoring, advanced wound care, and managing catheters/feeding tubes.
• Workflow Leadership: Leading tech appointments, team huddles, and mentoring assistants/externs.

Schedule: Full-time with flexible scheduling options (choose 4 ten-hour or 5 eight-hour shifts) and a predictable weekend rotation.
