Willow Ridge Animal Hospital (Loves Park, IL) seeks an experienced full-time or part-time Certified Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant for a two-doctor small animal practice focusing on felines. Candidate should have veterinary field experience with phlebotomy and anesthesia monitoring; Cornerstone and IDEXX experience is a plus.
The role includes surgical assistance, in-house lab work, and strong client communication.
We are looking for an experienced full-time or part-time Certified Veterinary Technician / Veterinary Assistant to provide quality patient care at our two doctor small animal practice, where we primarily see feline patients. Candidates should have experience working in the veterinary field, have foundational technical skills (such as phlebotomy and anesthesia monitoring), and be comfortable assisting veterinarians in surgical procedures. Experience with Cornerstone and IDEXX is preferred but not required.
For experienced Veterinary Assistants: After one year of service, we provide the opportunity to join the Penn Foster Veterinary Technician program where we will reimburse the cost of the program based upon grades received. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The technician must be able to multi-task. They must be able to think quickly on their feet. They must be able to develop positive working relationships with clients and co-workers.
The technician must have skills/knowledge on how to perform dental cleanings, charting teeth abnormalities, anesthesia induction and monitoring, surgical preparation, intravenous catheter placement, vaccination administration, venipuncture, in-house lab work, and filling prescriptions. Our new Team Member must work well with others as well as independently, take initiative and thrive in a busy work environment.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Registered Veterinary Technician in the state ofWisconsin is preferred but not required.
