Benton Veterinary Hospital is a well-established, progressive, fast paced three doctor general small animal practice located in Benton, Arkansas. The experienced staff at our hospital are ready to provide pets with cutting edge veterinary medical care. From wellness exams to complex surgical procedures, all pets receive high quality care at our hospital.

We are committed to educating our clients in how to keep your pets healthy year round, with good nutrition and exercise. Benton Veterinary Hospital stays on top of the latest advances in veterinarian technology and above all, remembers that all animals and pets need to be treated with loving care in every check-up, procedure, or surgery!

Our hours of operation are:

Mon - Fri: 8:00am – 6:00pm
Sat: 8:00 am – 12:00pm
(1st and 3rd Saturday only)
We are closed on Sundays.

Job Description

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

1. Animal restraint
2. Triage of incoming patients
3. Collection and analysis of lab samples
4. Diagnostic imaging
5. Management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability
6. Administration of medications
7. Effective communication of treatment plans with clients
8. Surgical preparation and assistance
9. Anesthetic management

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

Qualifications

We’re Looking For:

1. A Certified Veterinary Technician with an active license required, 1+ year professional experience preferred but not required
2. Consistent punctuality and reliability in adherence to scheduled shifts
3. Availability to work some Saturdays
4. Excellent client communication and medical record management skills
5. Comprehensive knowledge of veterinary procedures, preventative care, and hospital operations
6. Expertise in safe and low-stress animal restraint techniques
7. Proficiency in various sample collection methods, including blood, urine, fecal, and skin specimens
8. Experience in radiographic positioning and image capture, with additional skills in dental radiography being a plus
9. Experience in anesthesia administration and surgical monitoring
10. Commitment to professional ethics and continuous learning
11. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to animal-related hazards
