Job summary

Chagrin Animal Clinic is seeking a Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join the team providing anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, laboratory testing, and client education. The role supports veterinarians, with emphasis on accurate patient care and safety across exams and procedures.

Qualifications

• State license to work as a certified/licensed/registered veterinary technician
• Ability to lift patients and equipment up to 25 pounds; lift over 25 pounds with assistance
• Practice OSHA safety techniques including proper PPE
• Basic computer skills, familiarity with MS Office applications
• Basic math and ability to calculate medication dosages
• Strong communication skills to ensure patient safety

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians in medicine and surgery as needed
• Take histories, vital signs, weights, and provide client education during outpatient exams
• Prepare patients for surgery and monitor vital signs during procedures
• Obtain samples and perform in-hospital lab testing
• Take, develop, and maintain radiographs following safety procedures
• Handle and restrain animals during exams
• Administer and monitor medications, anesthesia, vaccines, and treatments
• Maintain cleanliness and restock exam rooms; assist team members as needed
• Demonstrate warmth, courtesy and professionalism in all client/patient interactions
• Communicate with veterinarians and the practice team about plans and concerns
• Perform any other duties as assigned
