Job summary

Metropolitan Veterinary Center in Chicago seeks a Certified Veterinary Technician to join our collaborative, client-focused team. In this full-time role, you’ll support veterinarians with exams, patient triage, anesthesia monitoring, surgery prep and recovery, dental cleanings and radiographs, lab work, and imaging.

You’ll provide compassionate nursing care, place IV catheters, administer medications, and educate clients on treatment plans and preventive care.

Qualifications

• Active CVT license or credential.
• Experience in small-animal practice preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with exams and patient assessment.
• Monitor anesthesia during procedures and recovery.
• Prepare for surgery and assist post-op care.
• Perform dental cleanings and radiographs.
• Handle lab work and imaging as needed.
• Place IV catheters and administer medications.
• Educate clients on treatment plans and preventive care.
