Job summary

Brookside School in Cottekill is seeking Certified Teaching Assistants to support preschool and school-age students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You will work under Special Education Teachers to conduct small group and individual instruction and monitor student progress, while assisting with related instructional tasks.

The role requires excellent communication skills, basic computer experience (Word/Outlook), and completion of required trainings including ATAS and CTLE

Qualifications

• Experience with both preschool and school-age children with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.
• Excellent communication skills to articulate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
• Computer experience including a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook.
• Pass ATAS.
• Workshops: Child Abuse, School Violence Prevention, Harassment, Bullying and Discrimination Training (valid for 3 years).

Responsibilities

• Assist in small group and individual instruction under guidance of Special Education Teachers.
• Monitor progress of students and support related instructional work.
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with staff and external stakeholders.
