Job summary

Gundersen Health System invites applications for a Surgical Technologist Internship with Emplify Health. This on-site program in Wisconsin La Crosse supports students actively enrolled in CST, offering hands-on experience under CST/RN supervision, with a 10-week schedule from late May to early August.

Interns will work 36 hours weekly (0.9 FTE), typical 9-hour shifts from 6:15am to 3:45pm, and gain exposure to instrument passing and aseptic technique while joining a strong teamwork-focused

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• Actively enrolled in a Certified Surgical Technologist program with successful completion of 1st year.

Responsibilities

• Assist physician and surgical team by passing instrumentation and equipment while maintaining aseptic technique under supervision.
• Support CST or RN Scrub in the operating room during procedures.
• Learn through hands-on experience over the internship period.

Gain experience in the Surgical Tech field and be a part of our Surgical Technologist Internship program at Emplify Health by Gundersen Health System! The CST Interns assists physician as scrub person according to prescribed standards under the direct supervision of the CST or trained RN Scrub with the primary goal of focusing on learning opportunities and extending the student experience.

What you will do:

• This Internship will begin May 25** th **** and end August 1 st. This is a 10-week internship.**

• Work fulltime, 72 hours every two weeks (0.9 FTE)

• 9-hour day shifts primarily 6:15am-3:45pm

• Provides assistance to the physician and surgical team by passing instrumentation, equipment, supplies, and maintains aseptic integrity during the surgical procedure under the direct supervision of the CST or trained RN Scrub.

What you need:

• High school diploma or equivalency+ Actively enrolled in a Certified Surgical Technologist program with successful completion of 1st year of CST program
• Current Infant-Adult Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers (with hands on learning) from one of the following programs; American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
