Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist for a full-time 36-hour workweek (Fri/Sat/Sun 0630-1900) with eligibility for weekend premium. The role supports the operating room team by preparing sterile fields, maintaining instruments, and ensuring procedural readiness.

Qualifications include CST certification and BLS, 0–2 years OR experience, and appropriate educational credentials.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Surgical Technology or Practical Nursing program.
• Associate Degree in Surgical Technology or Applied Sciences.
• 0–2 years operating room experience required.
• CST certification and BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room with instruments and supplies based on the procedure.
• Maintain sterile field and aseptic technique throughout procedures.
• Anticipate surgeon needs and pass instruments efficiently.
• Handle instruments/equipment per policy including sterilization.
• Count sponges, needles, and instruments with circulating nurse for patient safety.
• Assist with patient positioning, draping, and transfer under RN direction.
• Maintain physician preference cards and procedural documentation.
• Restock supplies and prepare rooms for subsequent cases and maintain OR efficiency.
• Adhere to all hospital policies and infection control standards.
