Job summary

HCA Florida Orange Park Hospital in Orange Park, FL is seeking a Surgical Technician (ORT) to assist in invasive and non-invasive operative procedures under the direction of the RN and Surgical Services Supervisor.

The ORT will maintain aseptic technique, prepare and stock surgical supplies, and ensure equipment is in good working order to support a high-quality patient experience.

Qualifications

• BLS required within 30 days of start date.
• CST certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in invasive and non-invasive operative procedures under RN supervision.
• Maintain aseptic technique and sterile field during procedures.
• Maintain and stock surgical equipment and supplies.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The Surgical Technician (ORT), under the direction and supervision of the RN, and Surgical Services Supervisor, assists in the performance of a variety of both invasive and non–invasive operative procedures. Technical responsibilities include functioning in the role of operating room technician for surgical procedures, and the knowledge of aseptic technique needed to carry out the procedure. The ORT maintains surgical equipment in good working order and maintains adequate stocking of surgical supplies and related equipment. Other responsibilities include, maintaining appropriate aseptic technique in cleaning the rooms and/or necessary supplies.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• (CST) Certified Surgical Technologist
