Job summary

Tidelands Health is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join our team in South Carolina. The CST will support the operating room team by maintaining sterile technique, assisting the surgeon, and ensuring supplies and equipment are ready for procedures.

Responsibilities include preparing the sterile field, handling instruments, and coordinating with the Circulating Nurse to optimize patient care. Acknowledges and follows safety standards and hospital policies.

Qualifications

• Must have an accredited Surgical Technician program.
• Must maintain 15 hours CEU annually.
• Strong knowledge of sterile processing and patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Checks Genesis container to ensure filter and cover are properly seeded.
• Tests equipment for proper functioning and availability.
• Assists Circulator in proper positioning of the patient.
• Follows preference card in opening/have-in-room supplies.
• Demonstrates proper scrub/sterile techniques.
• Notifies Circulator about sterilization breaks.
• Ensures case cart is complete; pulls instruments as needed.
• Restocks room and returns supplies after procedure.
• Labels, transports and logs specimens properly.
