Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited surgical technology program.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Word).

Responsibilities

• Assemble and organize sterile supplies and instruments for surgical procedures.
• Perform accounting procedures in concert with the RN circulator.
• Provide instruments and supplies to the surgical team during procedures.
• Maintain an organized sterile field and ensure its sterility, taking corrective actions as needed.
• Clean and prepare surgical instruments for processing and transport to decontamination areas.
• Assist with post-procedure cleaning of the operative room and preparation for subsequent patients.
• Participate in ongoing educational and competency verification activities related to scrub person activities.
• Float to central sterile to aid in tray assembly and other duties during procedures.
