Job summary

Pardee - HCHC is hiring a Surgical Technologist, Certified to assist with instruments, supplies and equipment during surgical procedures. Under supervision of a physician or RN, you will maintain a sterile field and anticipate needs of the surgeon.

Entry-level candidates with a Surgical Technology program, NBSTSA/NCCT certification, and BLS certification are encouraged to apply. This is a full-time, onsite role in the Operating Room, with weekend work and a 72-hour work week.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a Surgical Technology program.
• NBSTSA or NCCT certification.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and stages surgical environment/OR for procedures.
• Gathers, checks, and opens supplies and equipment.
• Stages sterile field with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions.
• Assists with draping the patient and establishing sterile field; helps with gowning/gloving.
• Performs dexterous tasks during procedures under surgeon direction.
• Prepares, labels and hands off specimens as appropriate.
• Cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization; assists in room cleaning for next case.
• Participates in debriefing and quality improvement activities to ensure patient care.
• Precepts entry-level staff and orients new colleagues.
