Job summary

Virginia Urology is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to join the operating room team as a scrub tech. The role supports intra-operative care for adult and geriatric patients, performing sterile technique, instrument setup, and patient positioning in a full-time capacity.

The position requires CST certification, a Surgical Technology program completion, and current CPR. Regular hours are 8:00 am–4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, in a full-time role with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of a Surgical Technology program or equivalent work experience
• Maintains current CPR certification
• CST certification required
• Registered with the Virginia Department of Health Professions

Responsibilities

• Routinely functions in the scrub role on assigned cases and maintains sterile technique.
• Assists in OR setup and provides instrument and supply preparation.
• Performs surgical hand scrub and gowns/ gloving per policy.
• Opens instrument trays and ensures sterility; notifies if any issue.
• Assists in patient positioning and draping per surgeon's preference list.
• Maintains instrument counts and room turnover procedures.
