Job summary

Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare is seeking a Surgical Technician to support the operating room team in a high-demand hospital environment.

Responsibilities include passing sterile instruments, retracting tissue, counting and handling of specimens, while safeguarding patient safety and maintaining asepsis. Requires formal surgical technician training and certification; two years of Open Hearts and CV procedures experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate.
• Graduation from a formal accredited surgical technician training program.
• Certified Surgical Tech Certification.
• Two years surgical technician experience preferred; not required.

• Assists surgeon by passing sterile articles, retracting tissue, counting and handling of surgical specimens.
• Remains alert to and safeguards against patient injury from electrical/mechanical hazards while guarding asepsis.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO APPLY

Required Education:

Minimum:

• High School Graduate
• Graduation from a formal accredited surgical technician training program.

Required Experience:

• none

Preferred:

• Two years surgical technician experience
• 2 years’ experience with Open Hearts
• Experience with CV procedures

Required Certification/License/Registry:

• Certified Surgical Tech Certification
