Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist for a permanent role in Hartford, CT. You will work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and RNs to prepare the OR, maintain sterility, and support the surgical team.

Day shifts only, with no nights, calls, weekends, or holidays. The facility emphasizes orthopedics and ambulatory surgery, offering lunch daily and a collaborative, patient‑focused environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a CST in Orthopedics is REQUIRED.
• Current certification as a Surgical Technologist.
• Ambulatory surgery center experience preferred.
• Current BLS certification.
• Knowledge of operating room protocols and procedures.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to anticipate surgical team needs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room for procedures and ensure equipment is functioning safely.
• Prepare patient and OR; support the surgical team during procedures.
• Set up sterile table with instruments, supplies, and medications.
• Provide patient care activities under RN supervision before and after procedures.
• Anticipate team needs and assist during surgeries.
• Ensure specimens are handled and processed correctly.
• Maintain clean, safe, and compliant work area.
• Contribute to patient safety analyses and suggest interventions.

Job Details

We are seeking a passionate, skilled, and dedicated Certified Surgical Technologist to join our dynamic healthcare team. This is a permanent position where you will play a critical role in patient care, working closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and registered nurses to ensure surgeries are carried out under optimal conditions.

Salary: $38 - $50 per hour

A bit about us

We're a state of the art surgery center focused a range of ambulatory orthopedics procedures.

Responsibilities

1. Preparing the operating room for surgical procedures by ensuring the equipment is functioning properly and safely.
2. Preparing the operating room and the patient for surgery and providing support to the surgical team during the procedure.
3. Setting up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for the procedure.
4. Performing patient care activities, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, before and after surgical procedures.
5. Anticipating the needs of the surgical team and providing necessary assistance during surgeries.
6. Ensuring all specimens are correctly handled and processed.
7. Adhering to the highest standards of medical and professional conduct while providing care to patients.
8. Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area, ensuring compliance with all health and safety guidelines.
9. Participating in the analysis of surgical procedure for patient safety, and recommending appropriate interventions.

Qualifications

1. A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist in ORTHOPEDICS is REQUIRED.
2. Current certification as a Surgical Technologist.
3. Experience in an ambulatory surgery center is highly preferred.
4. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
5. Demonstrated knowledge of operating room protocols and procedures.
6. Excellent knowledge of surgical instruments and equipment, including their use, sterilization, and maintenance.
7. Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to anticipate the needs of surgeons.
