Job summary

Doctors Hospital of Augusta is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to join the Main Operating Room team. You will work with surgeons and perioperative staff to ensure a safe, sterile environment and support high-quality patient care in a fast-paced setting.

You will prepare ORs, assist during procedures, maintain sterility, and participate in room turnover while upholding infection prevention and patient safety standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within established timeframe.
• Previous operating room experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures by ensuring all instruments, equipment, and supplies are available and sterile.
• Assist surgeons throughout surgical procedures by passing instruments and supplies.
• Maintain the sterile field and follow all infection prevention protocols.
• Perform sponge, needle, and instrument counts according to policy.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nurses, and other members of the perioperative team.
• Assist with room turnover and preparation for subsequent procedures.
• Support patient safety initiatives and quality improvement efforts.
• Demonstrate professionalism and a commitment to compassionate patient care.
