Job summary

HCA Florida Largo Hospital is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to support the OR team in preparing and caring for surgical patients with precision and compassion. You will assemble supplies, maintain sterile technique, position patients, and assist the team during procedures as a key member of the operating room crew.

The role requires graduation from an approved surgical technologist program, NBSTSA/NCCT certification, BLS, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds; hospital OR

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved surgical technologist program.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (NCCT, NBSTSA).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Hospital-based OR tech experience preferred, required for PRN.
• Ability to stand, bend, reach, squat, kneel, move patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds.
• Team player attitude.

Responsibilities

• Assemble supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures.
• Prepare sterile instrument table for procedures.
• Assist in positioning patients and preparing patient’s skin for surgery.
• Maintain sterile techniques and monitor for breaches in sterile technique.
• Assist the surgical team during procedures by passing instruments, sponges and sutures.
• Assist in monitoring patients.
• Gather equipment for cleaning/sterilization after procedures.
