Job description

We Are Hiring
  • Department: Pediatric Surgery
  • Schedule: PRN with Rotating Shifts
  • Hospital: Dell Children's Medical Center
  • Location: 4900 Mueller Blvd, Austin, TX 78723-3051
What You Will Do

Facilitate the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.

  • Prepare the surgical operating suite with sterile drapes, solutions, and appropriate sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
  • Hand required/requested instruments and supplies to the surgeon during surgery.
  • Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning, and draping patients.
  • Maintain instruments in an organized manner and monitor/track instrument counts throughout procedures.
What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider certification obtained within 1 month (30 days) of hire or transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • One or more of the following required:
    • Surgical Tech credential from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) obtained prior to hire or transfer.
    • Surgical Tech credential from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained within 6 months (180 days) of hire or transfer.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 2 years of experience, or an Associate's/Technical degree, or 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience.
Additional Preferences

Strongly prefer a Certified Surgical Technologist with one year of Retina experience.
