Job summary

TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center in Smyrna, TN is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to join the Operating Room team under direct supervision of the OR nurse. You will be responsible for the sterile field, instrumentation, sterile technique and essential intra-operative tasks.

The role requires graduation from an accredited Surgical Tech Program, CST certification, ability to stand and lift up to 25 pounds, and BLS within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Tech Program required.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist required.
• Surgical technologist students may be hired prior to graduation (within 3 months of graduation). Upon graduation, verification of completion of requirements will be verified. Failure to complete graduation requirements can result in termination of the position.
• Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 25 pounds.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment, and care of patients appropriate to the ages of patients served.
• Promote customer service initiatives.
• Function as scrub person during operative procedures.
• Demonstrate ability to perform technical skills and procedures.
• Assist in the intra-operative care of the patient by performing technical duties as assigned
• Deliver compassionate, holistic care, while supporting the rights and dignity of all patients.
