Qualifications

• Formal education in surgical technology or related field.
• Certification in BLS is required; CST/NTSC NBSTSA preferred.
• As per the job duties, familiarity with sterile technique and instrument handling.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards and patient safety practices.
• Ability to communicate clearly in English.

Responsibilities

• Anticipates the needs of the surgeon and informs the circulating nurse during procedures.
• Maintains high standards of quality and helps with cost containment.
• Assembles all supplies, equipment, and medications before procedures.
• Supports staff and physician relationships and responds to complaints promptly.
• Monitors aseptic technique and corrects any breaks.
• Supervises other team members and assists with orientation and training.
• Promotes safety, infection control, and regulatory compliance.
• Assists with OR turnover times and directs ancillary personnel.
• Follows CDC isolation guidelines and uses PPE properly.
• Participates in performance improvement and quality initiatives.
