Summary
Certified surgical technologists are responsible for preparing the operating room, including but not limited to, the sterile field, setting up surgical equipment, supplies, etc. During surgery, they assist the surgeon with instrumentation, supplies, specimens, and control of the sterile, surgical field. They play a crucial role in preventing foreign object retention. (Association of Surgical Technologists, 2022).

Details

• Part-time, 24 hours/week
• Schedule: 7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
• Onsite position

Responsibilities

• Scrubbing on all major and minor surgical procedures as assigned.
• Participating in patient assessments during planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
• Performing circulating duties under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to ensure patient safety.
• Maintaining operating room supplies, assisting with procedures, and contributing to staff training and orientation.
• Providing care tailored to patients' physical, psychological, educational, and safety needs across all ages.
• Participating in hospital activities as directed by the Manager.
• Other duties as assigned.

Additional Information

• Experience in pediatric surgery is preferred.
• Experience working across organizational levels is preferred.
• Healthcare experience is preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software is required.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent; graduation from an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• Certification: CST and BLS required.
• Experience: 0-2 years preferred.
