Job summary

Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, TX seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist/LVN Surgical Technologist to join the sterile team in the Outpatient and Main Operating Room. You assist in nursing care and prepare surgical patients, donning gown and gloves and maintaining a sterile field.

The role requires CST certification or eligibility, BLS through the American Heart Association, and completion of defined competencies within three months.

Qualifications

• Current Surgical Technologist Certification or eligible upon hire or transfer to the department.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) upon hire or transfer to department.
• ST and CST levels are based off of a point system designed in the career ladder.

Responsibilities

• Assist in nursing care and preparation of surgical patients.
• Function as part of the sterile team, donning gown and gloves and maintaining a sterile field.
• Issue instruments to surgeons following AORN standards of care.
