Job summary

Our client, a healthcare facility in Western Colorado near Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, seeks a Certified Surgical Tech with OB, Gynecology, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, ENT, Plastics, Dental and Urology experience. Procedures include instrument coordination, passing instruments, and assisting the surgeon under supervision.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and graduation from a Surgical Technician program, plus BCLS certification.

Qualifications

• Education as specified: high school diploma and surgical tech program graduate.
• BCLS certification required; experience in listed surgical specialties.
• Knowledge of instrumentation use, care, and cleaning.

Responsibilities

• As instrument technician, assemble and coordinate instrumentation for each case.
• Pass instrumentation and anticipate surgeon's needs.
• Follow established care plan and provide direct surgical care within scope.
• Collaborate with OR staff and other health professionals under supervision.

Job description

Our client, a healthcare facility located in Western Colorado, near Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, has a need for a Certified Surgical Tech to join their team. Must have had experience in OB, Gynecology, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, ENT, Plastics, Dental, and Urology cases.

Functions as an instrument technician, coordinating and assembling appropriate instrumentation for each individual case, passing instrumentation, appropriate medications, and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. Follows the established plan of care and provides direct surgical care interventions within the scope of practice. Works under the supervision of the OR Clinical Coordinator, Director of Surgical Services and/or RN (Circulator). Collaborates with unit/hospital staff and other health professionals.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Must be a graduate of an approved Surgical Technician program.
• Training & Experience: BCLS Certification. Must have had experience in OB, Gynecology, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, ENT, Plastics, Dental, and Urology cases.
• Job Knowledge: Knowledge of surgical instrumentation – use, care, and cleaning. Ability to manage instruments in the variety of cases listed above.
