**Details**

+ **Department:** Surgical Services

+ **Schedule:** Full Time, Days. Monday - Friday. 6:45 a.m. - 3:15 p.m. with participation in the on call rotation (must be able to report within 30 min of call).

+ **Hospital:** Ascension Saint Joseph

+ **Location:** Chicago, IL

+ **Sign on bonus:** Up to $5,000.00

+ **Salary:** $26.54 - $37.00 per hour

**Responsibilities**

Facilitate the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.

+ Prepare surgical operating suite with sterile drapes and sterile solutions as well as appropriate sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.

+ Hand required/requested instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery.

+ Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.

+ Maintain instruments in an organized manner and monitor/track instrument count throughout procedures.

**Requirements**

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

+ BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

+ One or more of the following required:

+ Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

+ Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

+ High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate'sdegree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

**Additional Preferences**

+ **Potential to move to four ten-hour shifts per week after orientation/training**
