Job summary

Montefiore New Rochelle is seeking a Surgical Technologist to anticipate and assist in all surgical procedures. You will work with the RN to ensure a sterile environment and provide safe care to the patient.

The role requires CST certification, HS diploma, and 1–3 years of experience. BS preferred. Candidates must be able to lift heavy instrument trays and count instruments per protocol.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience in surgical tech.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required.
• Knowledge of names and usage of surgical instruments.
• Ability to count surgical instruments efficiently and lift heavy trays.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Surgeon during the procedure.
• Collaborate with the circulating nurse to ensure all instruments, equipment and supplies are in the OR.
• Count instruments with Circulating RN as per protocol.
• Maintain sterile technique.
• Have the ability to lift heavy instrument trays.
• Work in a team environment and handle difficult personalities.
• Maintain surgical instruments and report defects.

Education

High School Diploma

Bachelor's degree preferred
