Job summary

Lakeshore Surgicare in Chesterton, IN is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to join the surgical team. You will prepare the OR, maintain sterile technique, and support efficient, high-quality patient care in the operating room.

The role requires CST certification, BLS, and 0–2 years of OR experience. You will assist with instrument handling, patient positioning, and documentation, contributing to infection prevention and procedural readiness.

Qualifications

• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist certification required.
• BLS - Basic Life Support required.
• 0-2 years of OR Surgical Technician experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating room, instruments, equipment and supplies according to procedure and physician preference card.
• Maintain sterile field and aseptic technique throughout procedures.
• Anticipate surgeon needs and pass instruments efficiently during surgery.
• Inspect, clean, and sterilize instruments per policy and manufacturer instructions.
• Document counts of sponges, needles, and instruments with circulating nurse for patient safety.
• Assist with patient positioning, draping, and transfer under RN direction.
