Job summary

Danbury Hospital is seeking Certified Surgical Technologists to perform scrub duties and assist in the nursing care of the surgical patient before, during and after procedures. A $15,000 sign-on bonus is available for qualified, experienced cert techs.

Responsibilities include maintaining a safe environment, applying aseptic technique, preparing equipment, and supporting the surgeon to expedite procedures while protecting patient privacy and dignity.

Qualifications

• Surgical Technologist Certification is required.
• Minimum one year of experience as a Surgical Technologist.
• Ability to scrub, assist in nursing care of surgical patient, and maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Performs scrub duties and assists in nursing care before, during, and after procedures.
• Provides safe, efficient environment for surgical patient.
• Applies aseptic principles to protect patient care and privacy.
• Prepares and uses equipment and supplies for procedures; demonstrates dexterity with instruments.
• Anticipates surgeon needs to expedite procedures and minimize patient exposure.
• Participates in continuing education and preceptor training; may instruct staff and students.
