Qualifications

• Completed a CAAHEP-accredited Surgical Technology program.
• NBSTA certification within one year of employment.
• CPR/BLS validation required; Validation Day attendance.
• Knowledge of various surgical procedures and required equipment.
• Excellent interpersonal/communication skills.
• Adherence to sterile field policies.
• Asepsis and patient safety principles knowledge.
• Knowledge of OR emergency procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating room with all required equipment and supplies before procedures.
• Assist surgeon during operations as permitted by standards.
• Maintain sterile field and assist with instrument handling during cases.
• Clean and restock the operating room after procedures to ensure readiness.
