Job summary

Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Main Street in Houston is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the surgical team during procedures. You will scrub in, maintain a sterile field, prepare supplies and equipment, and assist with instrument handling and turnover to keep the OR flowing efficiently.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, completion of a Surgical Technician program or equivalent, state certification as required, and prior ambulatory center experience is preferred.

Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Main Street is hiring a Surgical Technologist

Welcome to Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Main Street

We have 5 OR rooms and 2 treatment rooms. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in Bariatrics, Gastroenterology, General, GYN, Ophthalmology, Pain Management, Spine, Urology, ENT, Orthopedics.

Position requires weekdays only -- no holidays, weekends, or call. Some early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of the day.

The Surgical Technologist scrubs for surgical procedures and demonstrates competence while functioning as a member of the surgical team. Maintains a sterile field during surgical procedures. Prepares supplies, instruments, and equipment related to these procedures. Supports the philosophy, objectives, and goals of the Surgery Center. Supports and participates in quality improvement activities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED; completion of a Surgical Technician Program and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Certification as required by state and/or center
• Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center is strongly preferred
• Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
• Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed
• Must excel in teamwork and possess strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with staff, engage with patients, and coordinate with physicians
