We are hiring a part-time weekend package Surgery Technologist.
As a Surgery Technologist at MercyOne, you will prepare the operating room for surgical procedures, including setting up instruments, equipment, and supplies. Maintain the sterile field during surgery. Scrub for general cases such as general surgery, gynecology, urology, podiatry, and plastics. You may also be the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th scrub in all surgical specialties.

• Assist in setting up rooms, ensure safe transport of patients if needed, verify surgical site correctness, prepare the pre-operative site, instrument the case, manage the sterile field and specimens, and clean up the room under the supervision of the circulating nurse.
• Assess OR schedule and note any changes in scheduled procedures.
• Assist the surgical team during intraoperative phases.
• Participate in postoperative cleanup of the OR.
• Help maintain specialty preference cards.

Schedule:

• Weekend Package
• Saturday & Sunday, 7:00 am - 7:30 pm

General Requirements:

• CST certification preferred but not required in Iowa; required in Illinois.
• No prior experience necessary.
• BLS certification.
• Mandatory Reporter.

Education:

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program, including surgical tech apprenticeship or military training.
