Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Surgical Technologist, you will assist in preparing the operating room, caring for and cleaning equipment, and working in sterile fields to support surgeons with instrumentation. You will care for patients before, during, and after surgery.

• Perform patient care within your training scope and under RN supervision.
• Prepare patients, equipment, and operating rooms for procedures.
• Maintain a sterile and safe environment.
• Manage intra-operative tasks and anticipate surgeon needs.
• Assist circulating nurses with instrument counts.
• Manage supplies and equipment, ensuring sterilization and availability.

Qualifications Needed:

Experience

• Previous OR scrub experience preferred.

Education

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist Program and certification.

Licenses and Certifications

• Current certification as a Surgical Technologist, if graduated after September 1, 2009, within 180 days of graduation, from a recognized certifying body.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
