Job summary

AdventHealth in Riverview, FL seeks a skilled Surgical Technologist to support operating room procedures and maintain strict sterile technique. Responsibilities include passing instruments, gowning, gloving the team, and assisting with prep and post-procedure cleanup.

Requires knowledge of sterile techniques, instrumentation, and sterilization, with 2+ years preferred. Full-time daytime schedule with competitive benefits and Florida background screening compliance.

Qualifications

• Completion of validation skills.
• Knowledge of sterile technique, instrumentation, equipment, and sterile field set-up.
• Knowledge of sterilization techniques.
• Ability to anticipate critical emergencies of Specialty Call Team.
• Ability to organize, promote, and conduct in-services on unit.

Job Description

• Up to $10K Sign on Bonus (if eligible)
• Up to $10K Relocation Bonus (if eligible)
• Checks supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures.
• Scrubs, gowns, and gloves for surgical procedures.
• Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedures, displaying knowledge of procedure and patient positioning.
• Performs appropriate counts with circulator prior to the operation and before the incision is closed.
• Gowns and gloves surgeon and assistants.
• Assists other team members with terminal cleaning of the room and prepping for the next patient.
• Handles surgical specimens with 100% accuracy.
• Recognizes and responds immediately to emergency situations appropriately.
• Helps in draping sterile field.
• Passes instruments and supplies to surgeon during procedures.
• Maintains the highest standard of sterile technique during procedures.
• Prepares sterile dressings and cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• 2+ years as certified surgical tech [Preferred]

Licenses And Certifications

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• State Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) [Required] OR NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) [Required] OR Technician in Surgery TS-C (NCCT) [Required]
