Job summary

TriStar Summit Medical Center in Nashville, TN seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist to support operating room teams across multiple specialties. You will prepare equipment, assist surgeons, maintain sterile technique and ensure patient safety.

Required NBSTSA certification, BCLS/CPR within 30 days, and one year of experience preferred; benefits include comprehensive plans, retirement options and education support.

• One-year experience as a Surgical Technologist preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and organize the operating room equipment, instruments, and supplies as required for various surgical procedures.
• Anticipate surgeon and patient needs during a procedure.
• Assist with specimens, medications, and dressings.
• Set up and maintain a sterile environment and sterile field during procedures.
• Move and position patients and equipment safely to prevent injury.
• Follow safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Participate in orientation and education of OR staff.
• Stock and restock medical supplies.
• Provide surgeons and patients with necessary instruments and equipment.

Job Summary and Qualifications

We are seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist for our team to ensure that we continue to provide all patients with high quality, efficient care. Did you get into our industry for these reasons? We offer a vast array of robotic surgical technology including gynecology, general, thoracic, urology, spine and joint replacement. Services offered at Summit include Gynecology, urology, neurology, spine, orthopedics, general, ENT, plastics and vascular. Your responsibilities and tasks may include:

• Prepare and organize the operating room equipment, instruments, and supplies as required for various surgical procedures
• Anticipate surgeon and patient needs during a procedure
• Take care of specimens, prepare, check, and monitor medications, and assist with dressings
• Set up a sterile and sanitary environment, and maintain the sterile field for the patient during procedures
• Utilize correct body mechanics in moving, transporting, and positioning patients, stretchers, and/or tables in order to prevent injury to patient and personnel
• Follow relevant safety and sanitation guidelines
• Participate in orientation and education of all operating room staff on an ongoing basis
• Participate in stocking and restocking medical supplies
• Provide surgeons and patients with necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor, or CPR must be obtained within30 days of employment start date
• Surgical Tech Certification Required - NCCT certification NOT accepted, NBSTSA required.
• One-year experience as a Surgical Technologist preferred
