West Henderson Hospital is seeking a per diem surgical technologist to assist surgeons during procedures, under RN supervision, ensuring exposure, hemostasis, and patient safety.
Requires Technical School/2 Years College in Surgical Technology, CSFA/CSA/SA-C certification (or ABSA), BLS, and 3–5 years of surgical tech experience; Bachelor's degree is preferred.
West Henderson Hospital is a 150‑bed acute care facility located in Las Vegas. It provides emergency, cardiac, neurology, surgery, gastroenterology, and inpatient care for various medical needs.
Assists surgeons with exposure, hemostasis, and other technical functions that will help the surgeon carry out a safe operation with optimal results for the patient. Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, attends to the patients’ direct care needs. Accepts responsibility for his/her integrity with respect to maintenance and compliance, to policies. Anticipates the needs of the surgeon, and other team members, with respect to the requirements of a particular surgical procedure. Demonstrates and maintains dexterity sufficient for successful completion of his/her assistant duties on each particular procedure. Maintains a professional attitude with respect to the dignity, privacy, and safety of the patient. Functions within the limits of his/her ability, and within the scope of practice set forth by the medical staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, and appropriate state law.
Shift: PER DIEM VARIED
Education: Technical School/2 Years College/Associate’s Degree in Surgical Technology, or program board eligible for SFA certification required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Experience: 3-5 years surgical tech experience required; 5-8 years preferred.
Technical Skills: Continuing education programs to maintain and enhance clinical competencies related to perioperative or First Assisting practice.
License/Certification: Current CSFA Certification (through NBSTSA), CSA (through NSAA), or SA‑C certification (through ABSA) required. Certification must be maintained for employment. Current American Heart Association (BLS).
Other: Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care/service appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit/department.
