Job summary

AdventHealth Orlando Cardiovascular Surgery is offering full-time day shifts with a comprehensive benefits package. Eligible clinicians can advance through a Clinical Ladder and earn increases based on experience, development, and advancement criteria.

Up to $10,000 sign-on bonus and $3,000 relocation assistance may be available to qualifying candidates, with Florida background screening requirements and a strong focus on patient safety and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Actively participates in Cardiothoracic Service Line Performance Improvement projects and completes at least one project annually to improve outcomes and quality for Cardiothoracic patients.
• Supports customer and employee satisfaction activities of the organization.
• Anticipates the needs of the surgeon and keeps the circulating nurse informed of any needs throughout a procedure.
• Assists the team with safe and appropriate operating room turnover times in an efficient and organized manner.
• Directs ancillary personnel participating in room turnover and provides assistance and support as needed to members of the surgical team.
• Supervises other healthcare team members in the surgical environment and assists with orientation, training, and education of new personnel.
• Promotes a safe environment, takes appropriate action in emergency situations, and identifies and reports environmental concerns to management.
• Follows CDC isolation guidelines, uses PPE appropriately, performs hand washing according to policy, and monitors aseptic technique of the entire surgical team.
• Participates in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports quality standards and initiatives set by the department.
• Ensures all supplies, equipment, and medications are assembled prior to the procedure.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Schedule: Full Time (40) hours a week Shift: Days Maintains good relationships with physicians, management, other departments, and staff, and investigates and responds to complaints in a timely manner.

12-month Full-time Employment Contract Required for Sign-On and Relocation

Sign-on Eligibility: One (1) year of applicable experience. Internal Candidates and Rehires within 12 months are not eligible.

Relocation Eligibility: Must live 50 miles outside of campus address. Rehires that are less than 12 months from separation date are not eligible.

Unit Highlights

AdventHealth Orlando Cardiovascular Surgery has 7 CVOR’s and one hybrid one. We perform a full array of cardiovascular surgeries including bypass, valve replacement/repair, TAVR, heart transplant, lung transplant, multiorgan transplant, VAD insertions, Impella transplant, ECMO and pediatric congenital heart procedures. Ventricular assist device, Impella insertion, Aortic aneurysm repair & aortic dissection The thoracic line has 3 OR’s, one equipped with a Davinci XI robot. A variety of lung esophageal, and chest procedures are done including HIOC (heated intraoperative chemotherapy) cases for mesothelioma. We performed over 3,600 Cardiovascular and thoracic specific surgeries last year. Our Cardiovascular program is recognized as an ELSO Center of excellence for both adults and pediatrics, has a Nationally accredited TAVR program, and our heart transplant team is ranked 5th in the nation.

$23.94 - $44.53
