Job summary

St. Mary’s Health Care System is seeking a part-time Surgical Technologist for the Main Operating Room at Sacred Heart Lavonia in Lavonia, GA. The position includes a 12-hour day shift with on-call duties and focuses on patient safety during the intra-operative period.

Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will assist with preparation, maintain asepsis, and support the surgical team. NBSTSA certification is required with at least one year of OR experience.

Qualifications

• NBSTSA certification is required.
• Graduate of an approved Surgical Technologist program; must be able to read and write English.
• Minimum of one year operating room experience (student experience allowed).
• Knowledge of asepsis, basic biology, leadership qualities, ability to work independently, and good communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Care and safety of the patient during the intra-operative period and assist with preparation of the surgical patient according to hospital standards and policies.
• Assess and provide basic patient care needs while maintaining patient care standards.
• Function as a member of the health care team under supervision of the Registered Nurse.
