Job summary

Sacred Heart Lavonia is seeking a Surgical Tech for PRN, Day shift within the Surgical Services department in Lavonia, GA. You will work in the Main OR under the supervision of the Registered Nurse to support intra-operative patient care.

Requirements include NBSTSA certification, graduation from a Surgical Technology program, ability to read and write English, and at least 1 year of OR experience. Must demonstrate asepsis knowledge and good communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Certification through NBSTSA required.
• Graduate of an approved Surgical Technologist program.
• Must be able to read and write English.
• Minimum of one year operating room experience; student experience allowed.
• Knowledge of asepsis and basic biology; good communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform intra-operative duties under RN supervision to ensure patient safety.
• Prepare surgical patients and assist with routine tasks per hospital policies.
• Demonstrate independence, teamwork and effective communication in the OR.

Surgical Tech - PRN - Days- Surgical Services - *On Call* Sacred Heart Lavonia, Hospital, GA

Position Purpose

The Surgical Tech will work in the Main OR at Sacred Heart Hospital in Lavonia, GA.

What You Will Do

A clinically competent Surgical Technologist, under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, is responsible for the care and safety of the patient during the intra-operative period and assisting with preparation of surgical patient by performance of routine and delegated duties according to standards and policies of the hospital. Included within this assignment is assessing and providing basic patient care needs while maintaining patient care standards. The Obstetric Surgical Technician should be self-motivated and able to function as a member of a health care team.

What You Will Need

Certification: Certified through National Board of Surgical Technologist and First Assist (NBSTSA) required.

Education: Graduate of an approved Surgical Technologist program or Surgical Technology program. Must be able to read and write English.

Experience: Must possess a minimum of one-year current operating room experience (student experience allowed). Possesses a service orientation, should possess the ability to understand and react effectively to the unique needs and care for all patient populations. (i.e. neonatal, pediatrics, adolescents, geriatrics).

Special Qualifications: Knowledge and understanding of basic principles of asepsis, simple biology, leadership qualities, the ability to work independently, demonstrates effective communication and organizational skills.
