Job summary

Adventist HealthCare seeks an experienced Certified Surgical Tech for the Operating Room at Shady Grove Medical Center in Rockville, MD. The role supports the surgical team by passing instruments, preparing the OR, and maintaining sterile supplies, with on-call weekend requirements.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, completion of an accredited Surgical Technician program with CST certification, and BLS. Prior OR experience is preferred for full-time employment.

Qualifications

• High school or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technician program and certified.
• 1 year hospital Operating Room experience preferred.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST).
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Surgical Team in providing safe, appropriate patient care.
• Help surgeons during surgery by passing instruments and sterile supplies.
• Prepare the Operating Room with necessary supplies.
• Sterilize required instruments and supplies.
• Serve as surgical assistant as needed.
• Assist in ordering and restocking OR supplies and instruments.
