Job summary

Northwestern Medicine seeks a Certified Surgical Tech for the Central DuPage Hospital OR in the orthopedics area on a full‑time rotating schedule. The role involves preparing the sterile field, assisting with procedures, and ensuring instrument counts and equipment readiness.

Requirements include graduating from an accredited Surgical Technologist program, CST certification within 12 months of hire, and CPR–BLS.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) within twelve months of hire.
• CPR – Basic Life Support.

Responsibilities

• Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, medications, solutions, instruments, equipment, implants, and supplies.
• Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
• Passes instruments to physician during surgery and tracks instruments and supplies.
• Receives and processes specimens for delivery to the laboratory.
