Job summary

Qualifications

• Technical School graduate of Surgical Technology or Practical Nursing program.
• Associate degree in Surgical Technology or Applied Sciences.
• 0–2 years operating room surgical technician experience required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare OR by setting up instruments, equipment and supplies.
• Maintain sterile field throughout procedures.
• Anticipate surgeon needs and pass instruments efficiently.
• Handle instruments per manufacturer instructions and hospital policy.
• Perform sponge, needle, and instrument counts with circulating nurse.
• Assist patient positioning, draping, and transfer under RN direction.
• Maintain physician preference cards and procedural documentation.
• Restock supplies and prepare rooms for next cases.
• Comply with policies and maintain attendance.
