Job summary

HCA Healthcare's Methodist Hospital in San Antonio is seeking a Certified Obstetric Surgical Technologist to join a collaborative obstetric-surgical team. You will prepare the surgical suite, assist with procedures, and maintain a sterile environment, ensuring compassionate, high-quality patient care for newborns and families.

The role emphasizes teamwork, patient safety, and ongoing training with predictable scheduling and on-call support.

Qualifications

• Must obtain Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of employment start date.
• High School Graduate / GED required.
• CST certification or TS-C certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the surgical suite and organize instruments, equipment, and supplies.
• Assist with patient positioning, prepping, and draping for obstetric procedures.
• Provide instruments, equipment, and hands-on support to the surgical team during obstetric procedures.
• Maintain a sterile field and ensure instrument functionality.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to deliver patient-centered care during obstetric procedures.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing the surgical suite and organizing instruments, equipment, and supplies to support safe, efficient procedures
• Assisting with patient positioning, prepping, and draping while maintaining comfort, privacy, and safety
• Providing instruments, equipment, and hands-on support to the surgical team during obstetric procedures
• Maintaining a sterile field, performing counts, and ensuring instruments and equipment function properly
• Working closely with the surgical team to deliver patient-centered care and a seamless surgical experience

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• High School Graduate / GED
• (CST) Certified Surgical Technologist, or (TS-C) Tech in Surgery - Certified
